Award-Winning Safety
Poettker has invested heavily in the safety of its personnel and trade contractors on its job sites. This strategic investment and commitment from our personnel have been instrumental in Poettker’s safety success, as evidenced by:
Making Every Project Safe
To ensure the safety of every on-site team member, our project teams create tailored, site-specific safety and health plans (SSSHP) that further drive our culture of accountability and support the mentality that everyone is responsible for safety on their project and in their work assignments.
In the interest of learning from one another and sharing best practices, employees at every level are empowered to share their lessons learned, good catches, and near misses for the Safety team to disseminate to the rest of the organization. ¾¨Ó㴫ý routinely flies drones to efficiently and quickly survey large spaces, scan high and less accessible areas of the project, and identify potential risk concerns before they cause problems.
Our on-site teams discuss safety daily in their morning job briefings and weekly during supervisory calls and subcontractor coordination meetings. ¾¨Ó㴫ý Safety team leaders conduct monthly site visits.

Poettker has designed an internal hazard recognition program to empower the project team to proactively eliminate injuries and fatalities. This program identifies the potential outcome of all incidents or events and lays out meaningful plans to eliminate those possible hazards. We incorporate high-risk hazard recognition principles into our job briefings, training materials, and even our signage.
We review all our subcontractors before considering their bid for a project, and once hired, we meet daily to ensure the entire project team abides by our safety initiatives.
Safety Training
All ¾¨Ó㴫ý supervisors are , and most of our trade workers have also achieved this industry safety certification. Multiple employees have elected to advance their safety knowledge further and hold certifications through the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP).
Our annual training programs are customized for each role to ensure our team stays in compliance with OSHA standards. Employees can access courses through our Poettker Elevate learning management system, external training partners, and affiliations with local and state organizations.
¾¨Ó㴫ý has an extensive corporate safety plan and we orientate all employees and subcontractors on our job sites to ensure that everyone understands our expectations and can complete their jobs safely
